Swiss D'Palms International Hotel was agog as personalities across all the spectrum of Lagos State were being recognized for their impact in the society and awarded accordingly. The award cut across different categories and individuals were being awarded after screened by the award Committee and a stiff online voting.
It was however not a surprise to many as Mayowa Alakija emerged the winner of Corporate Industrial Achiever of the year 2021 category and was awarded to the cheers of the large audience. The emergence of the award was in recognition of his sterling performance in the corporate world, his diligence to service and his passion for excellence.
Inspite of his young age, Mayowa Alakija has been able to effectively manage his company, undertaking massive projects to the admiration of the veterans in his line of business.
While responding to journalists shorty after receiving the award, he disclosed that " this a
ward is dedicated firstly to the good people of Oshodi for their resilience and can-do spirit. I also want to dedicate it to the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede (Kendoo) for his giant strides in infrastructural development of Oshodi. In addition, it is dedicated to Alh. Musiliu Akinsanya in recognition of his humanitarian and philanthropic gestures and lastly to Alh. Adedayo Thomas, the DG of National Film and Censor Board, for his innovations and efforts at revamping the board", he concluded.
Other notable recipients of the 2021 accolades award include Hon. Babajimi Benson, Honourable member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Dr. Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye, Rector, Lagos State Polytechnic, Chairman of Isolo LCDA Council, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju, the popular comedian, Kenny Black, the famous Ikorodu boiz, to mention but a few.
